CASS | DAVE
After many years together, Cass & Dave chose an intimate celebration that felt truly their own—bringing 12 of their closest friends to Waiheke Island for a four-day stay at Putiki Estate. With a relaxed ceremony, heartfelt moments, and a dance floor that carried on through a storm, it was nothing short of magic.
The Love Story:
“Dave & I had been together for nearly 16 years when we got married. We knew we wanted it to be intimate and fun, so we decided to take our 12 closest friends over to Waiheke Island for 4 days to stay at the amazing Putiki Estate. On the second day we had a small ceremony on the helipad in the backyard of Putiki Estate - it was very casual and intimate, with lots of laughs and happy tears.
The heavy rain held off long enough for us to have the ceremony where we wanted it and then dinner was inside and the dance floor was covered outdoors in the middle of a storm!
Marrying my best friend at such a special place, with only our very closest around us, was magic and exactly what we wanted! We are glad we waited until mid 30s to get married as it meant that we could do what we want and how we wanted it, and it was perfect.”
Tell us about your journey to find the perfect gown:
“I attended the Sydney pop up in November 2024 with my best friend with my eye on a few pieces, including the Ginger topper. After trying on a number of pieces we came to Ginger last. While I loved Milano, as soon as I put on the Ginger topper with the Presley skirt I immediately felt exactly what I was looking for - beautiful but not traditionally bridal - you could tell I was a bride but really here to party! The mini skirt addition was a no brainer - it was a great surprise for Dave and I ended up doing my first dance in that and the photos look great particularly at night and in the rain.”
Tell us about your favourite moment from the day:
“Reading my, and hearing Dave’s, vows and how similar they were, but still incredibly emotional with both tears and laughs. A fe friends also gave impromptu speeches at dinner which was lovely and emotional. Being in the one place with only a small number of people who we absolutely trusted meant that there was no stress, no pressure, and when plans had to change slightly to accommodate the weather we all stayed calm and were able to have a chill day!”
How was your experience with the Anna Campbell Team?
“I met Frankie at the Sydney pop up and we had a great afternoon of trying on different things and having lots of laughs. She held the Ginger until the end and as soon as I walked out in that ensemble, her and my best friend seemed to collectively sigh and knew that was the one. Frankie made me feel comfortable and have a great time. I opted for the priority alterations service offered to interstate brides so that I could fly to Melbourne once only and Kayla had me in the right fit for all three pieces in only three fittings. Heading down to Melbourne, and especially coming home with that Anna Campbell bag, was a very special experience!”
