Mascha’s Custom Journey
Mascha and Jack chose Bali for their destination wedding; a backdrop as unforgettable as their love story. Nestled among lush tropical landscapes and golden sunsets, their celebration was nothing short of magical. But beyond the breathtaking views and heartfelt vows, what truly stood out was Mascha’s custom-designed bridal look — a reflection of her personal style, her story, and the essence of the day itself. In this exclusive feature, Mascha takes us behind the scenes of her design journey with our Anna Campbell team, revealing how her vision came to life stitch by stitch.
Tell us a bit about your wedding —
Our wedding was set on a clifftop in Uluwatu, Bali, overlooking one of the world’s most iconic surf breaks — a truly breathtaking backdrop. We leaned into a tropical-glam aesthetic: lush greenery, crisp white drapery and chandeliers created a magical and timeless dinner setting. The ceremony took place under a magnificent tree that felt like nature’s own arch, surrounded by a wild garden full of butterflies and birds.
One of our favourite touches was joining our guests straight after the ceremony for cocktail hour — no disappearing act, just drinks, live music and time to connect.
It was the perfect warm-up before the night kicked into full swing. Unlike other weddings, the party didn’t build — ours ignited. Swapping into the mini skirt was like a spark flipping the vibe instantly and kicking off what turned into the ultimate party.
Tell us why you chose Bridal Separates over a Gown-
Two reasons! First, I’ve always loved doing things a little differently and wearing separates felt like a unique twist on tradition — something classic but unexpected. Second, I loved the idea of re-wearing part of my wedding outfit. The custom topper is so versatile and I can absolutely see myself styling it with a chic outfit for an anniversary or special event.
You worked closely with Anna to create your custom topper — how did the vision come to life?
It honestly felt like Anna could read my mind. I was torn between two pieces — the embellishments of the Flynn and the shape of the Ginger — and within minutes she’d sketched a fusion of both on her iPad. That was the moment I knew I was in the best hands. From there, I trusted Anna and the team completely — they just instinctively knew how to bring it all together.
What was your favourite moment from the day?
Walking down the aisle and seeing Jack waiting for me — that moment hit me like a wave. But also walking past our family and closest friends, all there for us, was something I never thought we’d experience in such a beautiful way. I was completely overwhelmed and I cried through most of the ceremony (which may have ruined a few photos, but I wouldn’t change a thing). It was just so raw and powerful — a happiness I can’t quite describe.
Tell us about the bridal alterations process — how was your experience?
The wait between ordering and the first fitting feels like forever, but once it begins, it flies by! The alterations team in Brunswick is absolutely lovely. My first appointment was extra special because it was the first time I got to see my custom topper in real life. Hatice and her team were so kind and meticulous — I felt in such safe hands. We did three fittings in total and they made the whole experience feel seamless and exciting.
What was it like creating something so personal with Anna and the team?
Because I didn’t have my family or bridesmaids with me in Melbourne, I really leaned on the team for guidance — and they were incredible. Every person I met genuinely cared. It never once felt like a sales pitch; it felt like I was being looked after by people who truly love what they do. Anna herself is not only incredibly talented, she’s warm, passionate and deeply intuitive. I’m so glad I got to experience this process as part of my bridal journey. Particularly in hindsight, it makes everything feel so much more special.
You also changed your look for the reception — what inspired that decision, and how did it feel to switch it up?
The mini skirt was a total gut call. The moment I put it on, I felt this instant ‘party sway’ — I couldn’t stop moving! I just knew walking out in that second outfit would take the energy up a notch and it absolutely did. It screamed celebration and Jack and I danced non-stop from the moment it came out. On top of that, changing skirts felt like a no-brainer — it’s one of the perks of wearing separates and the easiest way to make a statement for the reception
“We loved Mascha’s custom design so much that we knew it had to live on beyond her special day. Inspired by her effortless elegance and attention to detail, we’ve included the look in our upcoming collection, Adorn — and named it in her honour. The Mascha Topper is a true reflection of her timeless style and the spirit of her unforgettable Bali wedding.” -Anna, Creative Director
