Tracey-Lee’s Custom Journey

A one-of-a-kind bride, a gown designed just for her. Tracey-Lee shares the story behind creating her bespoke bridal look alongside our Creative Director, Anna — and a wedding day filled with dramatic skies, fleeting rain, and unforgettable moments.

“Our wedding day itself fell on that one December weekend where the weather was glorious leading into it and just as beautiful again afterwards... but of course, our Saturday the 6th had other plans. The day was cooler and rainy, and for a brief moment during our ceremony the heavens truly opened, with strong gusts of wind sweeping through. Somehow, just as quickly as it arrived, it passed. We were incredibly lucky, the rain held off!”

“When we found Lavandula, it gave us that same feeling, stunning surrounds, a sense of calm, and the feeling that we’d escaped the country altogether! It honestly felt like we’d landed in a European dream. Lavandula felt like our own little piece of paradise. We had always imagined getting married at Greg’s parents’ property in Alexandra, but being completely off-grid came with its own set of challenges and, in the end, it just wasn’t meant to be.”

“One moment I will hold very close was when Anna was actually in Daylesford on the same weekend as my wedding and came to my bridal house to dress me. After all the fittings, discussions, and back-and-forth tweaks, it was incredibly special to have her there for that final moment, seeing the dress come together on me, ready for the day. It made the gown feel even more personal and meaningful, and it’s a memory I will cherish forever.”

“Designing for and dressing Tracey-Lee was an incredibly rewarding journey. More than a decade ago she’d modelled my very first designs so to have her back to create her dream gowns brought such depth, warmth, and vision to the process, and every step of our collaboration felt instinctive and inspired. Creating something so personal together-an effortless fusion of friendship and shared vision that made the final creation all the more meaningful.”

“My wedding dress, created by Anna, was a completely custom creation everything designed just for me. On my first try-on, I fell in love with Alaska, but on my second, I tried Cloud and became obsessed with the fabric. I loved elements of both, so we merged them together to create something truly special and completely unique to me.

The dress had delicate lace detailing, sheer panelling, and a side split in the leg all the little details combined to make it spectacular. From the moment I first tried it on, I felt an incredible sense of this is me …elegant but romantic. Walking down the aisle in it, and seeing Greg’s reaction, was unforgettable. He still talks about how incredible my dress was & that he loved that it wasn’t just a typical plain wedding dress!”

“Of course, a custom creation comes with its challenges. You can’t try it on and instantly know it’s perfect, you have to trust the process, make tweaks along the way, and have faith that it will come together. This is where Anna’s expertise shines; her guidance, skill, and eye for detail made the entire process feel seamless and reassuring. Anna’s talent for translating a bride’s vision into reality is remarkable, and I felt so cared for and supported throughout the entire process.”

Tracey’s gown was a refined fusion of our Alaska and Cloud designs, brought together with the addition of soft French lace. The result was an effortlessly elegant silhouette, balancing lightness and texture with a subtle, romantic sensibility. To complement the gown, the bride selected our Brooklyn Veil with a delicate scattering of pearls.

“A few months out, I decided I wanted a second dress...We had to be quick to get this designed in time! I wanted it to be a min, a playful, fun, and totally different vibe from my first dress!

We designed a mini version of the Cassandra, keeping the strapless neckline I loved but adding a an asymmetrical hem for movement! To make it even more special, we finished it with an epic floor-length bow. I didn't get to wear her for long but  it felt light, fun, and full of party/dance floor ready energy, exactly the vibe I wanted for this part of our night!”
