From the bride arriving at the serene Fitzroy Gardens on the back of a tandem bicycle, to a surprise Bollywood dance at the conclusion of the bridal waltz, the unique, joy-filled and vintage inspired wedding of Elly and Suman proved there are no wedding rules other than to have fun!

The laughter and love felt by all who attended this wedding is simply brimming from these gorgeous photos taken by local favourite, Farrah Allan, and the film (found below) captured by Moment Seeker Films.

Having decided upon a garden party wedding with a vintage feel, Elly soon had her heart set on the stunning Adelaide gown, explaining that: ‘glamourous, sophisticated, fun, vintage-inspired but still modern and incredibly comfortable, the Adelaide was the dress for me!’ Paired perfectly with the Georgia comb, the delicate hand beading and the bone colour of this gown was set off against the luscious greenery of the Fitzroy Gardens, and the dress sparkled in the sun of a hot summer’s day in Melbourne.

With a focus on good food, wine, friends and family, this gorgeous inner-Melbourne couple knew they wanted to keep their celebration as personal and relaxed as possible, and the stylish, converted warehouse of East Elevation provided them with the perfect venue. With exposed red brick and barn-style wooden entranceways the venue, coupled with a buffet of fresh antipasto and decadent cheeses, created a warm, party atmosphere. East Elevation, which doubles as Elly and Suman’s favourite weekend brunch destination, also came with one distinct advantage: a functioning chocolate factory, allowing the happy couple to ceremoniously smash several stacked sheets of chocolate with a rolling pin in lieu of cutting the cake!

Can you share with us your proposal story?

It was a true surprise and super romantic! Suman arranged a holiday in Croatia for a week prior to travelling to the UK to visit his family. Before my arrival, Suman arranged a beautiful hotel overlooking the sea, and decorated the balcony with red rose petals, arranging a bottle of champagne and a table and chairs on a private beach overlooking the city of Dubrovnik. When I arrived, Suman proposed on the balcony with his mother’s ring, timing it perfectly so we then went down to our table on the beach and watched the sun set over the sea – absolutely amazing!

What was your inspiration for the day?

We wanted a beautiful, relaxed wedding with a vintage feel. A cheese and wine garden party with lawn games after the ceremony was a part of our vision for the day. We wanted to have an element that reflected Suman’s Indian culture and the strong ties to his background, so we used the photos I took in India for the wedding invitations, incorporated an Indian poetry reading into our ceremony, and also broke into a surprise Bollywood dance following a short traditional bridal waltz! We also both love bike riding, and my arrival with my brother on a tandem bike was a fun way of celebrating our shared passions.

How did you feel wearing your dress on the day?

I loved every minute! The way the dress sparkled in the sun and draped so beautifully made it a dream to wear. I was always comfortable – even riding the bike! The weather was also quite warm – a late summer’s day in Melbourne – but the dress was so lightweight and well fitted that it was never too hot.

Any advice for future Anna Campbell brides?

Friends and family love getting involved on the day – don’t be shy about asking guests to help with small parts of the wedding, like making sure everyone has flower petals or putting together a playlist – we found everyone really enjoyed contributing to our celebrations. Also, relax and enjoy the day! It’s such a special time with all your family and friends coming to support your love, everyone says time flies and it truly does.

Runaway with us to the Deep South, New Orleans, where warm light filters through the cobbled archways of days gone by, and traces of an opulent past can be found at every turn.

It is here in New Orleans at the romantic venue, Race and Religious, where the beautiful wrought iron balconies, climbing roses and faded brickwork of this glamourous space come together to form the perfect setting for Anna Campbell’s Spirit and Gossamer collections.

Drawing inspiration from the city’s French heritage and beautiful, historic architecture, this editorial story captures the whimsical romanticism, elegance and spirit of adventure embodied by all Anna Campbell brides. The shimmering silk fabrics, delicate laces and intricate, sparkling embellishments of each gown were perfectly set off against the ethereal and seductive backdrop of this mysterious city.

There are weddings, and then there are weddings. The absolutely gorgeous wedding of our very own Founder and Creative Director, Anna Campbell, to her long-time love Murray, was definitely the latter!

With a desire to create an intimate and unique celebration, the pair set about ensuring every element of their day was full of meaning and personalised touches. This included deciding on Andersons Mill in Smeaton, Victoria as the venue - the place where, only two years ago, Anna's older sister also married. It was important to Anna and Murray to find a venue without limitations, and one that would welcome the DIY approach Anna had in mind! With the benefit of some beautiful floral styling, including a hanging arbour of peonies under which Anna and Murray said their vows, the sandstone mill provided the perfect backdrop for the stunning, rustic celebration.

Not surprisingly, the biggest decision for Anna was all about the dress! Ultimately deciding that one simply wouldn't do, Anna designed and created four beautiful, custom Anna Campbell gowns. Ensuring that each dress was made of just the right amount of exquisite lace or shimmering silk, or hand finished with the right number of sparkling beads, Anna had the perfect dress for each different moment of the day.

Anna and Murray collaborated with local Anna Campbell favourites, Brown Paper Parcel Photography and C2 Films,  who ensured not one special moment was missed, as well as Melonie Santos Makeup and Sweet Empire Melbourne, the latter creating a decadent, dark chocolate trip stack cake, oozing with blackberry butter cream and styled with fresh flowers.

For Anna, the most memorable moment of the day was reserved for her walk down the aisle: "this is the moment that plays over and over in your head from when you get engaged to when it happens, and it was more special and overwhelming than I could have ever imagined!"

This beautiful film by C2 Films provides a sneak peak behind the scenes of Anna and Murray's special day.

For Anna's first dress, worn to their first look at beautiful Swiss lavender farm, Lavandula, Anna created a one shoulder dress, with a floating silk tulle skirt. With gorgeous beading in an ivory tone that crept up one of Anna's shoulders, the gown allowed Anna to relax, but was also sparkly enough to be the first dress Murray saw her in.

With the bright, vintage lights of the venue in mind, Anna knew she wanted to create an incredibly sparkly gown for her walk down the aisle. Anna told us, "I kept on thinking about the sparkle of the dress under the old lights, and couldn’t resist being embellished from head to toe! It was so heavy, but so beautiful, it felt incredible!"

Anna created her third gown specifically for the ceremony and sunset photos, which were taken during a brief moment of quiet reflection between Anna and Murray. This dress had a mermaid silhouette, complete with intricate beading and soft, off the shoulder sleeves. Anna confessed that although she was initially nervous to wear such a fitted gown, it ended up being both her and Murray's favourite!

Anna created her fourth and final look with a slim line skirt of delicate Japanese lace, set off perfectly with a detailed, sparkling belt around the waist. This dress was designed as a party dress, to ensure Anna could tear up the dance floor!

Asked if she had any advice for future Anna Campbell brides, Anna recommended selecting suppliers carefully, ensuring they are people the couple can collaborate with creatively. Anna explained, "The day just went so quickly, and I was so full of emotion, that I am now so grateful I have such wonderful images and video of the event, to ensure I don't miss one moment!"

Rebecca and Will’s wedding day was a whirl of colour and fun at The Deck at Circa in the heart of Melbourne.

Forgoing a traditional archway, the couple showcased their personalities and were married in front of a quirky printed backdrop softly draped in natural vines. Wonderfully bright tulips, posies and peonies were carried by the bridal party to pop against the dapper suits worn by groomsmen as the knot was tied.

The team from Simply Georgeous Occasions brought Bec’s colourful dream to life with unique, modern styling touches including a wall of balloons, brightly hanging tassels and hand painted place settings, all inspired by the pink, yellow and green tones of the brides spectacular blooms.

Bec chose the fitted lace of the Madeline dress for its ‘incredible detailing’, saying that it ‘encapsulated everything I ever wanted in my dress – it was beautiful, comfortable and a bit sexy’. The Madeline dress is sadly no longer a part of the current Anna Campbell collection, but if you love that, we think you'll just adore the exquisitely fitted lace of our Thalia dress.

Taking a private moment together after the ceremony Bec and Will wandered the spectacular streets of St Kilda with photographer Kate Robinson to absorb the emotion of the moment, and capture some of the beautifully intimate moments below.

A little over 2 years ago, we both separately flew into Hobart, Tasmania to attend our 10 year school reunions (both being held on the same evening). Hobart is relatively small so we ended up at the same bar where it turns out a lot of our friends knew each other. We got talking and realised that we only lived one block from each other back in Melbourne. Next thing we knew we were dancing the night away into the early hours of the morning. Will, being the gentleman he is, walked me to a waiting taxi and nearly forgot to ask for my phone number! Thankfully I am not so forgetful.

Our ceremony and personalised vows were our favourite part of the day. Our incredible celebrant helped us create the most beautiful ceremony which our guests said set the tone for the rest of the day, along with the fact it took two of us to get the groom’s ring on (that thing is never coming off). We only snuck away for 15 minutes for photos (our brother-in-law/driver may almost have violated some traffic laws getting us there) but it was absolutely perfect as we managed to have some time on our own for the first time as Husband and Wife.

Sadly we don’t have a DIY bone between us but we tried to make it as personal by adding plenty of special and fun touches that meant a lot to us – everything from using Will’s Grandmother’s desk as our signing table through to serving fish and chips (my favourite) on the dance floor after dark. We had a beautiful illustrator draw a picture of us in cartoon form that became our invitations. She later sent us the painted watercolour that now hangs framed on our wall. On the day, whilst us girls primped and prepped at home and had catering delivered, the groomsmen and fathers had a chef prepare them breakfast.

The iconic regional Victorian venue Pipers by the Lake provided the perfect setting for our recent photo shoot with Brown Paper Parcel.

A grand pavilion nestled between the lake and expansive natural gardens, Pipers by the Lake has hosted countless weddings dating back to the turn of the century. The classic elegance of the venue and surrounds offered endless styling options for our wonderful team.

On the day of our shoot, the afternoon light fragmented beautifully off the still waters of Lake Wendouree as a soft breeze rustled through open fields and century old trees. We were so excited to work with the moody hues of grey, blue and shadowy greens Pipers had to offer, and paired with our dresses, the result was truly a perfect match.

We styled light, dewy makeup in soft peach tones with a loose braid, woven with flowers which changed later to natural, windswept waves and a whimsical flower crown full of the palest pinks, soft green and deep plum tones. The dresses chosen for the shoot; 'Isobelle', 'Harper', ' Thalia', 'Annabella' and 'Adelaide', feature some of our most delicate laces and intricate hand-beading as was only fit for such an exquisite day.

In a day filled with love and light, Lauren married her soul mate Pete atop the windswept hills of Graciosa. The couple exchanged the vows they had written for each other in a touching open air ceremony against a backdrop of lusciously green open fields.

Lauren carried the natural colour palette of her surroundings through to her rustically styled reception. The raw, wooden walls and exposed metal sheeting of the Graciosa farmhouse were brought to life with pink roses, and white wildflowers. DIY elements like lace detailed mason jars, hand-made dream catchers and lace and hessian bunting were the perfect pieces to reflect Lauren and Pete’s personalities. Guests played dress-ups in the photo booth and had fun with temporary tattoos, creating mementos that would fade long before the memory of Lauren and Pete’s special day.

Lauren worked closely with stylist Bek from our Armadale boutique on her journey to find the perfect dress. “I wanted a dress that was fitted, sexy and covered in delicate lace. After many fittings with the amazing Bek, we had created a dress that was exactly that, it showed a little bit of skin, had a stunning and intricate goddess like top paired with a gorgeous softly fitted lace bottom. The dress was truly a dream come true!"

Lauren’s sparkling Anna Campbell dress was paired with a softly tousled up-do, and long, sheer veil. A turquoise Samantha Wills comb added a striking pop of colour to her dark hair to complete the look.

*Lauren's dress is sadly no longer a part of the current Anna Campbell collection, but if you love this style we think you'll adore the 'Annabella' from our new collection 'Gossamer'.

Pete and I met as he is good friends with two of my brothers. Soon after getting to know each other Pete went where most friends wouldn't, he asked permission from my brothers to date me. Lucky for me they said yes. It was when my brother showed up at my house with a massive box filled with my favourite chocolates that I knew i had found the right one.

Our vows, we wrote our own vows, they were such beautiful and intimate words, an incredible moment shared with our closest friends and family. Never have I felt so much love in the air, so many happy tears were shed. For a moment it felt like we were the only two people there, it really was the most incredible day of our lives.

The crystal clear waters, pure white sand and swaying palm trees of Playa Del Carmen in Cancun, Mexico offered a picture perfect setting for Natalia and Ferran’s romantic beach wedding.

We were captivated by the magical styling of the day. A traditional sand ceremony took place on the beach under a pristine white gazebo, amidst incredible natural rock formations as the ocean rolled in. The smitten newlyweds were showered with rose petals from DIY cones, as they made their way back up the sandy aisle to celebrate their love with friends and family from all over the world.

Bridesmaids in the palest of mint carried bouquets of babies breath which paired perfectly with the soft pastel styling of the reception theme. Gold ballroom chairs glittered under hundreds of fairy lights, at tables laden with the same roses and peonies that Natalia carried down the aisle.

Shoes were optional, with the bridal party instead opting for handmade crochet foot cuffs that left them free to dance the night away to the lively music of the mariachi band. Guests had fun with the candy bar and photo booth, after celebrating Natalia and Ferran’s first dance as a married couple with an abundance of sparklers.

The bride dazzled in the fitted lace and magnificent crystal beading of our 'Harper' dress, purchased from Blue Bridal boutique in Austin, Texas. ‘I wanted to wear an Anna Campbell dress no matter what, and fell in love with how comfortable and stylish the Harper was, as well as how perfectly it matched my beach setting’, said Natalia.

See more from Natalia and Ferran's island escape wedding in the incredible photos by Viva Photography below.

We met in Barcelona! He’s Spanish, and I’m Mexican, and after 9 years of dating we were finally married. He is the love of my life!

Definitely having all of our friends and family gather from all over the world! We had guests travel from the United States, Europe, Asia and all corners of Mexico.

Our bridesmaid dresses were purchased from Singapore, where I lived and studied for 5 years. The photo booth gave us a lot of fun and funny photos of our loved ones, and we had great input from our families, Ferran’s mother was the one who made our amazing foot cuffs!

It's hard not to to be swept away by all the magical DIY elements Rebekah and Mike brought to life with their enchanting outback wedding. We love that the soft pastel yellow and pink tones of Bek's bouquet carry through to her bridesmaid dresses and the playful balloons and streamers that have been captured beautifully by Sarah J Nalder.

Rebekah's first encounter with her Anna Campbell dress was online, she saw it and was smitten from that moment on. When she came in to our Armadale boutique for her first bridal appointment it didn't take much to convince her that the 'Melissa' dress was the one! Uncannily enough Rebekah shared a name with her stylist Bek and also a vision for her dream dress.

"Bek was so great through every fitting, bit by bit it became the dress of my dreams. I was so grateful for Bek’s talents and guidance throughout the whole process. Her styling and professional advice, collated with my own judgment was a match made in heaven!."

Its time to get inspired by colour and the countryside! Take a peek at Rebekah and Mike's photos below.

Mike and I met through our friends and they played cupid from get go, before we knew it we were dating and then married!

My favourite part of the day was definitely walking down the aisle to marry my best friend. The flooding of emotions and heightened excitement was enough to send me buzzing the whole day.

Because our wedding was on a private property, it was all DIY, everything from the centre pieces to the tassels on the giant balloons. We made signs for everything and giant chalk boards that had things like table seatings and menus. Making everything ourselves turned out to be a great bonus! Not only does it help with budgeting but a big part of your personality is reflected in your wedding.

Everyone kept telling me to enjoy every moment as it goes so quickly. That advice couldn’t be more true, enjoy every moment of your day, remember to laugh, cry, dance and be yourself!
